Under the leadership of Cheryl Logan – the program coordinator for the senior’s program, the program operates three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM. While socialization is a huge part of program activities, other activities include:
Monday – 10:30 – 11:30 – Zumba – seniors with limited mobility are welcome and encouraged to participate at their own pace; even sitting if necessary. Zumba classes are open to the public.
11:30 – 1:00PM – socialization, card games, arts and crafts, refreshments.
Wednesday 10:30 – 11:30 – Bible Study (optional), book club discussion or arts and crafts
11:30 – 1:00 PM – Special guest presentations on issues and topics relevant to seniors; refreshments.
Friday – 10:30 – 11:30 – Arts and Crafts- seniors work on craft projects throughout the year in preparation for the center’s Juneteenth celebration/festival which is held on the third Saturday in June of each year.
11:30 – 1:00 PM – Seniors participate in group activities such as going out to lunch; taking in a movie at the Munson Williams Art Museum; visiting local sites of interest, and participating in events and activities throughout the city.
Other activities include monthly birthday parties; our annual Christmas party, and other special occasions as they occur.
