Annually, on the third Saturday in June, under the leadership of Board member Robbie Dancy, the Leisure Time Center, together with the Bessie Hicks Seniors program hold a Juneteenth celebration in Chancellor Park in Utica Juneteenth celebrates the last slaves, in America, in Huston Texas, to learn of their freedom by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865 after the Civil War. Various corporations, businesses and organizations in the Utica area help to sponsor this event.
Each year in November MUNPC- Leisure Time Activity Center sponsors a “Harvest Ball” as a fundraiser for the organization. The 2018 Harvest Ball was held at Valentino’s in Washington Mills.
